This year there are 88 classes, an increase of four on previous years. The new classes are – Pork Pies in the Baking category, woodworking in hobbies/handicrafts and examples of handwriting for adults and children.
There is also a brand new trophy – The Ray Fothergill Cucumber Cup, a special trophy donated by Joan Fothergill in memory of her husband Ray, who was a great supporter of the Produce Show, who sadly passed away last year.
There are five categories, including:
• 47 classes in the Horticultural section.
• 18 classes in the baking/jams/preserves and pickles category.
• 3 floral classes.
• 13 classes in the hobbies/handicrafts section
• 7 specific classes that only children can enter.
The 2025 show was a huge success with a stunning array of produce across all categories. A large crowd visited the show and mingled among the fantastic exhibits, had cup of tea and chatted with competitors, friends and neighbours. Well done to David Bowman who was the overall winner in the horticultural section, and also the winner of the trophy for the most ‘firsts’ , with 8 category wins.
Other trophy winners were: Hobbies – Carole Ford; Floral – Cath Towers and Baking – Cath Towers. There were some excelent entries in the Children's classes.
A big thank you to Show Secretary Judith Lowe and all the other volunteers who make the show possible.
