2021 Produce Show
This year’s annual Produce Show at the Village Hall will be held on Saturday 28 August.
The Show Committee has decided to set the date well in advance in order to give everyone time to plan.
The date has been set as the government is beginning to ease the Covid restrictions and it is looking hopeful that the Village Hall will be operating fully again by the August.
The 2020 Show was cancelled due to Covid. The Show in 2019 was a huge success with a stunning array of produce across all categories. What was undoubtedly the biggest crowd ever to visit the Show mingled among the record number of exhibits, drank tea and chatted with competitors, friends and neighbours.
Dave Bowman won the horticultural produce award for his brilliant fruit and veg as well as the award for most firsts across all categories.
There were three new trophies presented in other sections of the Show. The arts and crafts trophy, which had been donated by Terry and Carole Ford, was won by Heather Holt for her fantastic apple tree blanket which reportedly contains over 341,600 stitches and required 23 balls of wool. Cath Towers won the floral trophy for her beautiful floral arrangements and Lynn Wallis won the baking trophy for her outstanding cakes, flans and quiche.
